Find the feed
Look for a site's RSS icon, or append /feed, /rss or /atom.xml to its URL. Most blogs and CMSs expose a feed. Pile also accepts a page URL: it detects the linked feed.

If something breaks
Pile says "invalid feed" on a URL I know is correct
Some CMSs redirect the feed through a short URL or behind a subdomain. Paste the final URL (no URL shortener): Pile validates the XML directly. If the feed requires a specific User-Agent, contact support.
New articles are not arriving even though the feed is active
Check the publication date in the feed: some sites only update <pubDate> when they edit a post, not when they publish. Open the source settings and force a manual refresh.
Imported content is truncated or empty
The feed only publishes an excerpt. Pile flags this on the article card with a "partial content" notice. Open the original URL for the full text; some sites offer a full feed with a key or via a paid plan.

Does Pile read paid or protected feeds?
Pile reads public feeds. For a token-protected feed, paste the full URL with its token: it works as long as the token is valid.
