Frequently asked
Do I need to install anything to use Pile?
No. Pile lives in the web app: connect a source and start from your browser. The apps and the extension below add one-click capture, they are not required.
Which platforms are available today?
All six (extension, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, CLI) are in development. In the meantime, the installable web app (PWA) already works everywhere: open pile.merry-forge.com and "Add to Home Screen" or "Install app".
How do I install Pile as an app right now?
On desktop, in Chrome or Edge, "Install app". On mobile, open the site in Chrome (Android) or Safari (iOS), then "Add to Home Screen". Pile opens full screen, like a native app.
Does mobile share already work?
On Android, yes: once the PWA is installed, Pile shows up in the share sheet of every app. On iOS, sharing goes through the Safari share sheet until the native app.
